Thanks for the link Mr Celt. My Mrs likes a good walk (she 'insists' we have one most weekends) and we will try this one later this year http://www.visitpendle.com/whats-on/witches-walks-2012-p664580 We will have to sample the local 'Witches Brew' too.
Choose a nice day - the view from the top is terrific - if there's no cloud/rain/snow etc, and that's just in the summer! Look at the webcams below: http://www.copstergreen.co.uk/view.htm http://tektoo.net/witchwatch Look out for the "evil eye" build into the tower of the church at Newchurch, though the shoppe is a bit naff. The Pendle Inn at Barley has decent beer, or the Assheton Arms at Downham - it was better food (and the beer was pretty good), though it's recently changed hands, and doesn't re-open until early April.
Cheers, that's one of our August weekends sorted. Thanks for the links and the hints gents - including the Assheton opening hours. Thirsty work this walking up hills business and one needs to ensure appropriate sustenance is available .
