If anyone is thinking about buying this great mini from Heresy then may be interested in my recent posting. I'm no expert painter but may give you some ideas.

I've got this figure but haven't painted him yet. He is a nice model. I used liquid greenstuff to fill the joints between his wings and torso. It worked really well. Of course, the gaps weren't that big. He's undercoated but I have had too much on to start him yet. Your pic has now inspired me so I'll start him this week.

Thanks - looks great! I've got one of these too - but am holding back (it's in the lead mountain, too ) as I've had some difficulty assembling the werewolves and the barguests - though didn't need to pin them in the end, but needed to apply a fair amount of liquid greenstuff to hide the gaps.
@BigAl: You're right - it is easy to blend it into the fur!

Games Workshop, although you can get it a bit cheaper from places like Maelstrom Games and Wayland Games. Apparently Vallejo do something similar that is a little less money, but I went for convenience and bought the GW stuff locally. It's water soluble and is applied with a paint brush. Rinse the brush regularly to stop clogging and make sure it has a decent tip. Splayed ends does make it difficult and puts the stuff anywhere, so chose your old brush carefully.

The other tip to remember is to remove what you need onto a palette and close the lid or the pot will dry out. It dries fairly quickly too. It is especially useful for those small joins. I first used it on some 3mmm helicopters. Really good stuff.
