Hello all...I've just started on a box of Warlord cavalry, and have never painted 25mm horses before! I am fairly pleased with the results but not 100% pleased with how the horses came out.
If any one would care to take a look and pass on any advice it would be much appreciated, I feel the horses look a little flat maybe?

the games workshop website has a good "how to paint horses" ...NO! it`s really is good ,i didn`t know horses had so many markings and colours |

I'm no expert, either. There is a thread or two on the Warlord site where this was discussed. Back in the day, I used to use oil paints. The thing is that they take a week to dry. The effect is good though. Leaves a nice sheen to the horse. Daub it on and wipe it off with a soft tissue. Obviously, you'll need a basecoat of the appropriate colour.
Some swear by the Army Painter dip too. Gives a similar effect, but you must brush it on, not dip the figure. Brush on liberally and then remove the excess with a clean brush. look carefully for where the dip runs off and forms pools. Remove those pools with your brush every so often. Then spray with matt varnish.
I don't bother with eyes. On your photos the eyes look white. When you look at a horse, you don't often see the white of the eye, or hardly notice it. They are always black or very dark brown

Unwife is a "horsey person" so I tend to get all my advice regarding horses from her. Of course it's a double edged sword as she's very quick to point out any mistakes in my painting and ridicule the sculpt if it's a bit wonky.
