I tried to catch the Witchfinder General documentary on UK Channel 4 catch up but it does not appear to be available yet? I did notice Gods and Monsters that was shown last month is still available for a few more days. Episode 2 is quite good and it gives a good overview of plague doctors / apothecaries and the inner workings of their 'beaky masks'.
I thought the programme a bit broken-backed: the narrative was lame and the analysis not particularly penetrating. But then, I suppose these rules have led me to expect vile abominations everywhere, rather than only some poor weak defenceless old women. ... Or were they?
