I know this was discussed in the introductions section of the forum, but I wanted to kick it around here again, so my apologies.
The book depository still haven't shipped the book, and at first they told me the rules haven't been published.
When I explained the situation they stated that Dashing Dice have to release the book to them first.
Can anyone clarify this situation for me please?
Do I have to cancel my order and re-order the book?
thanks in advance. |

Hello Shelldrake
Thanks for letting us know. I am really sorry (and a bit annoyed ) to learn that the Book Depository have still not sent your book. I will e-mail you a more detailed response to see if I can help solve this problem. Dashing Dice Games have promptly dispatched every order we have received - including those to the distribution centre that the Book Depository use to acquire books. The last thing I want is to keep fellow wargamers that want to play Witchfinder waiting. I do advise people to order the book from our site or the equally reliable Warlord Games. |

At least I can look forward to the rules as a Christmas present now |

I pre ordered the book from Amazon around the last week in September. They gave me a delivery date of 3rd of November. At Publication on the 1st of November Amazon sent me a message saying that the book was 'out of stock at the suppliers' and a revised delivery date of 27th December! 'Black Sheep' had previously said that all books Amazon asked for had been sent to them so that there should not be any issues...clearly Amazon had other ideas! I therefore immediately cancelled the order with Amazon saying that their service was pretty awful and ordered instead direct. The book reached me less than 48hours later (and that to Highland Scotland)!
So I would obviously advise to do what I did and cancel the order from the faceless idiots and order from source instead.
May this Samhain cleanse your heart, your soul, and your mind! |

Ordered mine from Warlord, and received it about a week or so after the order was placed. And that's to Canada, and the West even.
I have no idea what the Book Depository is, but from this thread, and many others, sounds like they could consider re-naming themselves the Book Suppository. |

Good lord. I accuse Amazon of Witchcraft!
Why not cancel those orders and just get the book? Seriously! |

| I agree with Grant! Cancel the order and get the book from either Dashing Dice direct or Warlord Games. |

I wrestled with this before I pre ordered from Amazon at the end of September...when they sent me the December delivery date I realised my error. Sometimes the best deal isn't always the cheapest one! Dashing Dice have given us a great games system and buying direct from them helps to ensure that support for the game and this forum stay running. In short if i'd not cancelled my Amazon order i'd still be waiting as it is I've had half a dozen games and am getting others into the game too.
May this Samhain cleanse your heart, your soul, and your mind! |

After explaining to the BD that the rules book has in fact being released, which caused them to stop communicating with me until I started a new email from scratch, they have just sent me a refund with no explanation except "we are unable to fill your order".
At least I have my money back, but now because things are a bit tight at the moment, i will have to wait a few months before I can order the rules |

Hello Shelldrake
Sorry the Book Depository have let you down. Whilst trying to get to the bottom of the debacle with Amazon and the Book Depository not promptly delivering Witchfinder I was advised Amazon have just taken the Book Depository over? I am aware Amazon have finally delivered some of the books people ordered from them weeks ago and it would not be polite for me to post what I think of the email you have received from the Book Depository .It would not be in keeping with seasonal good-will I will e-mail you a cunning plan, that is stickier than sticky the stick insect on a sticky bun, on how we can resolve this problem. |

Received the email thank you.
Amazon has taken over Book Depository?! I wonder what changes they will make. Probably for the worst. |

Could they be any worse than no sale, rude email and refund? Amazon are usually very good. Sounds like it's a good thing the Book Suppository is gone! |
