Posted - 03 Sep 2012 : 21:52:20 Thanks Big Al . I will advertise the new Yahoo Group in the next Miniature Wargames advert and add a link on the Witchfinder website. I am just completing the Hard-Men download then I will add some material to Witchfinder Yahoo later this week. |

Posted - 03 Sep 2012 : 19:46:35 Right, it's done! I have made it so that people need to be approved to join in an effort to reduce spammers. Here's the URL
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheWitchfinderGeneral/
Just need to post the available files and links. |

Posted - 03 Sep 2012 : 17:55:28 Hello Big Al. A Yahoo Group gets my vote and thank you for offering to set one up - that would be really helpful- Cheers. I tried the QRS link from the main website's 'More Info' page a few minutes ago and it appears to be working. The link that I gave to the QRS in one of the forum threads is not working and I will try and fix that later. Thanks for letting me know. In the interim this link to the QRS should be okay. http://www.dashingdicegames.co.uk/Quick%20Reference%20Sheet%20%20Witchfinders%20website.pdf%202012.pdf |

Posted - 03 Sep 2012 : 13:19:54 That wouldn't be so bad. I'm a member of a few and we don't get too many. What I've noticed is how many people get their email addresses hacked. Easily fixed with a change of password, but the user does need to be told that his email's been hijacked. It doesn't usually stay a problem for long, unless the user has gone on holiday or is ill. Even then an email to him informing him that his account has been suspended until he is able to fix the problem usually does the trick.
If everyone is happy with me setting one up, I'll do it sometime this week. The main person I'd like the OK from is Black Sheep. I don't want to do anything that would impact on this forum and website too much. I don't want to take control of things away or anything. I just think that it might make more people aware and get them involved in the game. |

I agree with you, a Yahoo group would be useful, but it would still need to be screened for spammers. |

Posted - 03 Sep 2012 : 10:37:14 Good news about the new downloads. Looking forward to them. Just need to swat this pesky spammer now!
I was wondering if a Yahoo Group might be of use? It would allow folk to load up any scenarios and other ideas, as well as any messages that would appear in email inboxes if people like that sort of thing? I did notice that the QRS has disappeared or been moved. The link gives a 404 message. Things like that could be stored in the files section of the Group if one were started. It can be useful spreading the word of Witchfinder General, too. Any thoughts or objections? I could start a group if people would like? |

Posted - 02 Sep 2012 : 15:46:06 Hi Big Al. I did want the first supplement to be ready for release by Halloween but unfortunately it will not be ready until early 2013. Some things (like painting tartan to a reasonable standard!) have taken a bit longer than I anticipated. In the interim I will start to add more free downloads to the website that will contain a mixture of new troops and beasties for the game plus new encounters for players to try. A very talented young artist has agreed to produce some work for future publications and it is highly likely that 'Dashing Dice Games' will start to release a small selection of figures later next year too.
