Unfortunately, I was unable to attend Hammerhead this year. I missed Eric at Vapnartak, which I went to despite the weather. So, if anyone went, how about a brief show report? And if you managed to participate in the Witchfinder game, how did it go?

I shall be sure to bring a selection of almost entirely paint free minis as well.

Paint free: the healthy option...

Yep, can do. I hope you know the rules fairly well as I only got the book last Sunday and the only game I've played so far is Eric's demo. We should have a bit of terrain available as the club has apparently bought a half timbered style village recently.

Sheep St. is pretty easy to find and there's plenty of parking round the back of the place. I shall see you there.

Cool, I think all being well and good that will be fine. I see club meets from 11.30 onward so be there to meet you and set up if thats ok? I also have some suitable terrain if needed and enough toys to put on a small skirmish. I will sort a senario of sorts to play its much better (in my opinion) than a free for all! I'm all sorted with rules so shouldn't be too much of a problem. Look forward to seeing you chaps then, and probs let me know.

Cheers

Graham

@Undave - Hi mate. Could well do a game on Sunday 19th at the Warlords, a chance to show off the rules and my lovely toys?
Are you about and available for it????

You can post here (I'm a regular visitor) or mail me at mad4magic@hotmail.com

Ohh...I'm all excited now

Carl also had some very nice biscuit foam buildings from Ziterdes in a few months ago. Apparently they've just changed supplier so there may be a restock in the offing soon.

Warlords is on every alternate Sunday with a meeting on the 19th. All the details are on the website: http://www.northamptonwarlords.co.uk/when--where.html

If you get anything set up or fancy popping over for a game of WFG or anything else give us a shout.

Well done on the award...well deserved and a feather in your cap...or should I say witchfinders hat

@ Undave...would be good to get a game in, I've never been over to the Northampton club, let me know what dates may be good for you and I'll check out the diary and see if we can get something organised.
I haven't done so yet but was thinking of having a word with Carl at Wargames Workshop and seeing if one Sunday when he hasn't go any events running if he wanted a game of witchfinder demo'ed in his shop? Didn't know if he'd be interested, but he does sell Warlord figures and suitable other stuff.
Cheers

You only need one photo when it's got me in it! (I'm the one with the hair.)

It was a well presented game and having got the rulebook whilst I was there it was nice to sit down with it afterwards and think to myself "Hey I was just playing with those miniatures." I'll try and get some of my own stuff sorted and post it in the gallery as I picked up a fair bit just for use with Witchfinder.

Sarge, I may end up coming down to Rushden at some point as I'm based just outside Northampton. On the other hand I'm sure you'd be welcome at Northampton Warlords if you fancy coming over for a game. Hopefully we can tempt the others into playing it as well.

Well done on winning the award. Well deserved from what I could see in the photo and from what I know of the game Witchfinder General. It is a game with an interesting theme.

Looking forward to the cards and photos. All good stuff!

Hello everyone and welcome to the forum Maj. It was really nice to meet you all yesterday and thank you for taking the time to say hello and try a game of Witchfinder.
I only had chance to have a very quick look round the show Al but I was really impressed with the variety of the different participation games and there was plenty of great trade stands to choose from. I acquired a few more Witches from Rapier Miniatures. I think the COGS team organised an excellent show. I arrived in Newark on Saturday night Terry and could not resist investigating a tavern called ‘The Prince Rupert’ – but I thought it best (on that occasion – my local may be a different matter?) to wear attire more in keeping with current fashion. I did find good ale and fortunately no sign of any canines with unusual powers.
Later this week I am going to update the Witchfinder site and I will add the ‘encounter cards’ that we used yesterday and a few more photos to accompany Sarge’s nice shot.
It was a really unexpected (but very pleasant) surprise to be informed at the end of the show that ‘Witchfinder’ had been awarded the Hammerhead 2012 ‘Best Presented Game’ trophy. Thanks for your interest and support with the game, it is appreciated.

That table looks cracking! Oh why did I start this thread. It's torture, seeing as I couldn't go! Can't wait to see more pics.

I forgot to mention that Eric was suitably attired as a witch hunter. Takes guts to go fancy dress although maybe he goes to the pub like that too

@Sarge I noticed a couple sat at the table (or at least I noticed a young lady), I presume that was you? I was one of the group of three hogging the table earlier.

For Eric's interest one of my trio purchased a copy of the rules from Warlord and the other (my son) shares my copy.

I know Eric was taking some so sure they will follow...I did take more but maxed out my phone/camera memory and thought better of deleting the family photos on there to make room...my missus doesn't mind playing games but I could find myself in hot water
