Posted - 19 Nov 2011 : 15:44:41 Although I might be a little late to the party, I ordered my copy last night. Hoping to make use of my collection of ECW minis and GW vampires horde. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2011 : 07:39:55 Buying some Ottomans, Hungarians and Poles from The Assault Group, and making some Balkan Witchfinders. Englishmen are all well and good, but real men have fur hats and droopy mustaches!
Can you tell I'm inspired? [/quote]
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm Thaddeus. We are OK with fur hats but we are not in favour of droopy mustaches! We believe an immediate application of a quality British moustache wax should be the order of the day. Have a good weekend. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2011 : 07:19:24 Thanks again Nelly. We have only played the game with 28s so it will be interesting to find out how your games with 15s go. |

My copy arrived in Kabul today :) so some light reading for tonight methinks :)
Hello Nelly Thanks for letting us know your book has arrived OK. Do you think the rules can be easily modified to cater for your plans to play the game with 15s
At first skim through it wouldn't seem too hard to swap to 15s. Pretty much would just be a halving of distances, swapping inches to cm would be too much of a reduction in my opinion, especially the shooting ranges would appear slightly too close, halving should be ok and still give the right ranged feel, without becoming claustrophobic. |

Posted - 03 Nov 2011 : 19:21:30 Once I have the book, I plan on doing the following:
Familiarizing myself and friends with gameplay based on my pre-existing ECW and Fantasy miniature collections.
Supplementing my collection with some Highlanders, and putting together an epic campaign of linked scenarios inspired by some Wikipedia browsing, tentatively titled Along the Devil's Causeway: the Northumberland Cycle.
Adapting the rules to my War of Spanish Succession pirate miniatures, 70-odd years later. The clothes may be different, but a guy with a sword or musket is still a guy with a sword or musket, so there shouldn't be much to change. Bayonets, I guess.
Buying some Ottomans, Hungarians and Poles from The Assault Group, and making some Balkan Witchfinders. Englishmen are all well and good, but real men have fur hats and droopy mustaches!

Posted - 03 Nov 2011 : 18:29:57 Pleased to say that my copy has arrived too. Many thanks Eric....i'll try not to get mixed up with Amazon again haha!
At first glance it looks very comprehensive with very little i'll need to adapt for games 50 years earlier. The other variant that springs to mind would be a Dark Age Viking/Saxon mythological setting, but as that was my University 'speciality' I guess I was always going to think towards those lines :)
Very nice rule set which will get a run out in a week or so

Posted - 03 Nov 2011 : 15:57:36 No I think Sawney will have to be a Charachter leader in his own right with his followers as a tribe of Noctelingers.Sawney is of course C18th so it could be a Vampire line running back to the C17th.Have to work in the Beast of Bladnoch probably as a Barguest and will also have to ensure the Church of Scotland dont get to here about it as some of the Galloway ministers run on the decidedly odd end of the theological spectrum. |

Posted - 02 Nov 2011 : 23:45:29 Received my copy today from the always reliable Warlord Games. Had a load of work to do tonight sadly so not had time to delve too deeply yet, but very impressed at first glance.Excellent production values, particularly given the very reasonable price.
Looking forward to finishing up some more Sleepy Hollow minis to give the rules a run out...
