Ian from Space, myth and magic in Scarborough had told me about the new rules comming out and I popped into the shop the other day and grabbed a copy.
Great looking book, rules seem easy but with enough detail to make games interesting.
I realy like the idea of alternate history bringing model collections together (history meets fantasy).
I already have many figures that are awaiting some paint and now find myself eager to get 2 forces together. I plan to use some Mantic ghouls and dire wolves/chaos hounds to join the ranks of the evil side.
I also have just got 3 boxes of The Garden of Morr from games workshop and some sets of grave stones that I am planning to make up so that I can create a large playing area that looks like a huge grave yard. Just need to get a church.

Great blog warhamster! Really like the Chaos Warriors as mentioned. I too had a Chaos army, the only picture left is this one: http://www.coolminiornot.com/218595?browseid=335253 - there's a few other minis in my cmon gallery. Just odds and ends.
I have convinced a friend to play this game with me; he is taking the good guys, I am playing the monsters! Next week is our fist game.

I think they are warlord models, they are the Perry plastic ones that come in a box with pike and command, I threw the box away.
The warriors of chaos is my main WHFB army and still has lots of work to be done on it.

ps.. just looking through your blog, just thought I'd say I thought your chaos warriors look awesome and liked the tattoo detail on the Malifaux guild exectioner. Look forward to seeing what great stuff your going to turn out for this game. I get as much fun from collecting and painting as I do from playing. |

Like the paint jobs Dave, I think simple schemes work best on the musketeers & pikemen. Is the one in the photo a plastic from Warlord?
I have used the mantic ghouls myself....loads of them and good value for money, becasue they are plastic easy to make a few conversions from my bits and bobs box...have fun

they are just colour tests but I am fairly happy with them and will be adding some more in the near future.
I will add some more pics when they are ready and have the bases finished.

It would be grand if you sent any pics in jpeg format to info@dashingdicegames.co.uk or if it was more helpful we could start a terrain topic on the forum and gamers could just follow any links straight to your blog. What would be best for you?

I do find work in progress shots of how people make terrain pieces and paint figures really useful. I am sure other gamers on the forum would too.
I would really welcome thoughts, opinions and scenarios being posted on the forum. Under the ‘Witches on the Borders’ topic Paul kindly shared how he had adapted the rules for a Border Reivers game where he tweaked the visibility in gloomy conditions, introduced ‘blinds’ and exposed how vicious  geese can be if you get on the wrong side of them!
In the very near future I will add a new section to the website that provides extracts from folklore and history for gamers to refer to as a resource to inspire the creation of new encounters. ‘Forlorn Hope’ author, David Frampton, has already submitted some great material concerning historical accounts of a giant black hell hound terrorizing Suffolk folk in 1577 and lots of other suitable reports of beasties and witchcraft. I would equally welcome more of this type of material too.

Ref the Grave yard.
I am doing some work for my blog with regards to this set and making it into terain pieces. Do you want any work in prog pics or just when I get stuff finished? (I am a very slow painter)
Also,
what are your thoughts/opinions on fan fiction/scenarios/rules bieng posted on the forum?

Thanks for the welcome.
I do not get chance to play much in Scarborough as I work in Glasgow and only get home for 2 or 3 weekends a month.
Hopefully later in 2012 I will be moving jobs to York so will be able to commute and have more time at home with more time to get some games in.

Welcome aboard Dave. I hope you enjoy the game. It would be great to see a picture of your graveyard playing area when you have completed it. I am having a game of Gaslight with Ian on Tuesday night down as Space, Myth and Magic. I hope to rope Ian in again to help play test some new Encounters for Witchfinder over the next few months too.
